Well, I have thrown myself on the mercy of camquit and get some more cartridges to keep me going till Friday :) I was going to brave it out but to be honest, at the moment, I don't care if using NRT makes me not a 'proper' quitter - it's preferable to the alternative and I'm just not ready to try on my own. I will be ready one day - I was before and i will be again, but I'd rather not attempt it yet. been gymming again - not really losing weight but definitely losing inches off my waist which is always good for a woman of a 'certain age' ;) Thanks for your support again. I may still rant but ay least I'm a 'fit non-smoking' ranter :kickbutt:
JeffN:
I don't see you as not a proper "non-smoker" or whatever, because you use nrt. It is infinitely better than risking a possible relapse in the early stages of a quit. It's just a springboard to your new smoke-free life. I certainly am not an extremist who thinks the only "proper" way to quit is cold-turkey. A chantix pill got me through the first week pretty painlessly. There's nothing wrong with it, in my opinion...what matters is only not taking another puff!
You're doing great!!
elle:
As long as you're not inhaling tobacco smoke, you are a proper quitter here. We embrace any and all methods people choose. What we don't embrace here are hardcore "my way or the highway" messages that might alienate people from including potentially useful tools in their quit toolbox-- so you will always be free to talk about your quit methods here.
Glad you got the inhalers and I am sure you will be okay! Well done!
sarahc:
Oh no, I'm completely not hardcore at all about NRT - I hope I didn't come across like that - maybe i did :( I'm sorry. I respect everybody's way totally. I wish i could be a cold turkey - er, but it terrifies me!!!! Sorry again if I sounded like a radical :)
elle:
Oh, wow, I totally didn't mean to give that impression. My post was supposed to reassure you that whatever method you use will be accepted here and that no one here will ever criticize you for using NRT. So sorry if it came across differently!
